Denniston Data Inc Announces Major Enhancements to Provider Ranking System and Healthcare Pricing Guide

In a milestone release following years of development, new features such as accelerated data intake and AI Assist give clients much-needed tools to fix U.S. Healthcare

GREENWICH, CT – July 14, 2026 – Denniston Data Inc (DDI), a leader in healthcare data intelligence, announces significant, rolling advancements to its two flagship platforms: the Provider Ranking System™ (PRS) and Healthcare Pricing Guide™ (HPG). These enhancements, which include accelerated data intake, expanded sources, AI Assist, and network configuration deliver new, actionable insights for quality, pricing, and care navigation, all reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering more current, comprehensive, and actionable data to support informed decision-making in provider networks, referrals, patient navigation, negotiations, and cost management.

Provider Ranking System (PRS)

Over the past year, DDI has accelerated claims data intake for PRS by more than eight months and expanded source coverage across major U.S. healthcare lines, doubling total claim volume. PRS data now encompasses commercial health, Medicare Fee-for-Service, Medicare Advantage, and workers’ compensation, strengthening the platform’s focus on overall healthcare quality as measured by provider experience, claim outcomes, evidence-based practice, price transparency, and functional restoration/return-to-work.

To optimize data going forward, PRS is transitioning to twice-annual updates. This will deliver claims data within 6-12 months of closure, which is near real-time access to provider quality, directory, and volume metrics for clients.

Additional PRS enhancements include:

  • Expanded and detailed provider rankings with new component scores for overtreatment (adherence to evidence-based medicine), complications (relative to peers), and experience, providing greater transparency into the overall Composite Ranking Score.
  • NPI, CCN, and EIN crosswalks, enabling automatic data retrieval or mapping using any provider or hospital identifier—even when multiple values exist.
  • Integration of in-network data for configurability to any/all health plans, allowing users to search in-network (for steerage) or out-of-network (for network development). This is also the first step towards Smart Scoring using both provider quality and in-network rates for steerage to the best providers at the best prices (available now via API and the HPG platform).

Healthcare Pricing Guide (HPG)

DDI’s flagship price transparency product just launched HPG Dashboards, giving users on-demand access to NPI-level negotiated rates in real-time dashboards (rather than mere CSV exports). This includes:

  • Raw Rates from payer-published transparency Machine Readable Files;
  • Filtered Rates from validated lines that use billing data to remove “ghost rates”; and
  • Smart Rates, which combine PRS quality data (Composite Ranking Scores and Procedure Ranks) with in-network rates to identify the best providers at the best prices.

DDI’s proprietary Smart Rates empower care navigation teams, MCOs/TPAs, health plans, and member portals to make more informed referrals, network decisions, and patient guidance on both quality and price.

Additionally, the HPG platform now also features built-in AI Assist, which allows users to ask coding and pricing questions in natural language for faster, more intuitive insights. HPG AI Assist is trained on the HPG database plus the most appropriate health analytics knowledgebases as vetted by the DDI product team.

“These enhancements represent a major leap forward to the industry’s biggest dilemma and the underlying objectives of the No Surprises Act, getting real-time, multi-dimensional healthcare data intelligence on quality and price into the hands of decision-makers,” said Phil Denniston, President & CEO. “By combining richer data sources, transparent component scoring, AI-powered usability, and Smart Scoring, we’re equipping our clients with turnkey tools that drive better outcomes, cost efficiency, and frictionless care.”

The updated PRS and HPG platforms are available immediately to existing clients with the appropriate service plans, with new AI features rolling out through the remainder of 2026.
